Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our industrial hardware and lock solutions.
What is your minimum order quantity?
Our MOQ starts from 50 pieces per SKU, for both catalog items and custom OEM programs. Lower quantities for prototype or trial orders are negotiable — tell us about your project and we will work it out with you.
What is the typical lead time?
Standard products: 2-4 weeks. Custom projects: 4-8 weeks depending on tooling and approval process.
Do you support ODM / OEM projects?
Absolutely. Our engineering team can develop custom locks, latches and handles from concept to mass production.
Can you ship samples for evaluation?
Yes, sample orders usually ship within 3-5 business days by air courier.
How do I request a quotation?
Use the contact form or email us with product SKU, estimated quantity and target market. We reply within 24 hours.
Can SecuriLock rotary latches be used on aircraft?
Our rotary latches are designed for ground support equipment, aviation transport cases and non-structural cabin interior equipment such as galley and stowage hardware. They are not certified for flight-critical airframe applications. If your program requires certified flight hardware, tell us the specification and we will confirm honestly whether our products fit.
How do your latches perform in extreme temperatures?
Standard configurations operate from -40°C to +80°C, covering tarmac winters as well as closed containers parked in direct sun. We validate latch function through thermal cycling, and every unit is functionally tested before shipment. If your application sees temperatures outside this range, tell us your profile and we will propose suitable materials and lubricants.
What documentation do you provide for aviation supplier qualification?
Each lot ships with material certificates, dimensional inspection reports and batch traceability records. Salt spray results from our in-house laboratory are issued to ASTM B117 / ISO 9227, and third-party test reports are available on request. Your quality team can file the package directly into its own supplier approval system.
Can you reduce latch weight for weight-sensitive aviation equipment?
Yes. We offer weight-optimized geometries and material selections that keep the two-stage locking action intact. Send us your target weight and load requirements; our engineers respond with a proposal, and free STEP/DWG files arrive the next working day so you can check fit in your assembly model.
What are the MOQ and sample lead time for aerospace programs?
MOQ starts at 50 pieces per model, and samples ship in 20 to 35 working days depending on configuration. For qualification programs we support small pilot lots before you commit to volume orders, and we schedule production around your assembly plan.
How long do your latches last in salt spray testing?
Our marine-grade finishes are verified in our own laboratory to ASTM B117 / ISO 9227. Neutral salt spray results of 1,000+ hours are documented per batch, and test reports are available with your shipment.
Will the latch stay closed under vibration and wave impact?
Yes. A rotary latch wraps the striker in a positive two-stage engagement — it cannot back-drive open like a slam latch. That is why rotary designs are the standard choice on vessel doors, hatches and offshore panels.
Which material should I choose for deck-mounted enclosures?
For direct salt exposure we recommend stainless steel construction. Where weight and cost matter, zinc alloy with our marine-grade electrocoating is a proven alternative — every batch is salt-spray verified in-house with documented hours.
Do you support remote cable release for engine room panels?
Yes. Cable-actuated variants let you place the release handle where it is safe and convenient. We advise on cable routing, bend radius and striker alignment, and can customize lever lengths and cable exits from 50 pieces.
How do rotary latches handle constant rail vibration?
The rotary pawl wraps the striker in a positive two-stage engagement — there is no spring-loaded tongue to rattle loose. Closing force stays consistent because engagement is mechanical, not friction-based.
Can I release the latch remotely from a panel without handle access?
Yes. Cable-actuated variants place the release point wherever your design needs it. We support cable routing, bend radius and striker alignment from specification stage, and customize cable exits from 50 pieces.
What cycle life can we expect on interior doors?
Our rotary latches are endurance-tested on in-house cycle rigs through hundreds of thousands of operations. Every production batch additionally passes 100% functional testing before packing, and batch records ship with your order.
Do you provide documentation for fleet maintenance programs?
Yes. We supply batch traceability, dimensional inspection records and salt spray test reports per order. Free STEP/DWG files support your maintenance documentation, and replacement-part supply follows the same 36-month 100% on-time delivery record.
How many latching points does my enclosure door need?
As a rule of thumb: doors above roughly 800 mm benefit from multi-point latching, because gasket pressure bows large panels. A single rotary lock with rod linkage (top or bottom drive) covers two or three points from one handle. Send your door dimensions and gasket spec — we will confirm the layout.
Can the latch maintain IP66 sealing over years of use?
Sealing performance depends on consistent compression — and that is where rotary latches excel: the two-stage engagement pulls the door to a defined, repeatable closed position. We match compression travel to your gasket hardness at specification stage so the IP target survives thermal cycling and vibration.
Do you offer keyed-alike systems for a cabinet fleet?
Yes. We supply structured keyed-alike (KA) and master-key (MK) programs across cabinet fleets and multi-site projects, with documented key schedules per project. Share your site structure and we will propose the keying plan.
What corrosion protection do outdoor cabinet latches get?
Outdoor finishes are verified in our own salt spray laboratory to ASTM B117 / ISO 9227 with documented hours per batch. Depending on exposure, we recommend zinc-nickel plating, powder coating over zinc, or stainless steel construction. Test reports are available with your shipment.
Can one key serve an entire cabinet fleet?
Yes. We build structured keyed-alike (KA) and master-key (MK) programs for operators and tower companies, with documented key schedules per region or crew. One crew key can serve thousands of cabinets while management keys retain override.
How do the latches resist tampering on ground-level cabinets?
Rotary latches engage around the striker with no exposed tongue to pry. Combined with shielded strikers, through-bolted installation and optional cylinder locks, the forced-entry resistance of the door line exceeds that of standard quarter-turn hardware.
Will sealing survive -40 °C to high-heat sites?
Yes — provided compression is engineered for it. Gaskets harden in cold and relax in heat; we match latch compression travel to your gasket material across the temperature range at specification stage, so the IP target holds year-round.
How fast can we get samples for a new cabinet design?
Standard models ship quickly from stock programs; customized samples are delivered in 20–35 business days from confirmed drawings. Free STEP/DWG files are available within one business day so your design team can start immediately.
Do you provide custom keying systems?
Yes, we offer master key, keyed alike and unique key combinations for most lock cylinders.
What surface finishes are available?
Common finishes include chrome plating, nickel plating, powder coating, black oxide and passivated stainless steel.

What warranty do your products carry?
All SecuriLock products carry a 12-month warranty from date of shipment against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal intended-use conditions. Specific terms are defined in the purchase agreement. Warranty does not cover damage from incorrect installation, misuse, unauthorized modification or operation outside rated specifications. We investigate performance concerns even outside the formal warranty period.
What quality testing and documentation do you provide?
Every latch is verified in our own facility before shipment. Salt spray corrosion testing is performed in-house to ASTM B117 / ISO 9227 (1,000+ hour tests available), and every unit passes 100% functional testing. Batch orders ship with AQL acceptance sampling records. Material certificates and salt spray test reports are available with each order, and third-party inspection can be arranged at order stage on request.
Can your locks be supplied keyed-alike or on a master-key system?
Yes. Keyed-alike (KA) and master-key (MK) programs are available across our pin tumbler cylinder and right-angle lock ranges. Keying requirements must be specified at order stage because they affect the production process and cannot be changed after manufacture. For complex multi-enclosure or tiered-access projects, our application engineering team can consult on the keying architecture at the design stage.
What technical support is available?
Technical support means direct access to engineers who work on product applications — not a general customer service team. Questions about installation, application suitability or product modification receive responses from people who can actually answer them. Email technical enquiries, application engineering consultations and CAD file requests are responded to within one business day.
What certifications do your products hold?
Many products are UL FTTA2/FTTA8 certified and REACH compliant. ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 cover our factory.
Can you cross-reference competitor part numbers?
Yes. Our engineering team maintains cross-reference data for Southco, EMKA, DIRAK, Industrilas and other leading brands. Submit the competitor part number and a brief application description; we identify the closest SecuriLock equivalent or flag where a modification is needed. Response within 1–2 business days. No charge and no obligation.
Do you provide CAD files?
Yes — for every product in our catalog, without exception and without registration. We supply:
- STEP files (.stp) — compatible with all major CAD platforms
- DWG files — 2D dimensional drawings with tolerances and hole patterns
- PDF datasheets — for quick reference and procurement documentation
Request via our engineering team and receive within one business day.
How does SecuriLock compare to established brands like Southco or EMKA?
If you need a standard part from an established brand and price is not the primary factor, their distributor networks are efficient and reasonable. SecuriLock tends to be the better fit for custom configurations, tighter budgets, faster prototypes, or when you need direct technical dialogue rather than going through a distributor. We will give you an honest assessment if you send your requirements.
What payment methods do you accept?
All prices are quoted in USD as standard; EUR available on request. Prices are EXW Xuzhou unless otherwise agreed. Supported methods:
- T/T bank wire transfer — standard for bulk orders
- L/C — available above threshold value
