The SL-4001-11 Direct Drive Rotary Latch features a compact direct drive design, delivering smooth, dependable latching for light- to medium-duty door panels. Supplied with a mounting bracket and integrated cushioning device for quiet, vibration-resistant closing, the latch is available in zinc-plated steel or stainless steel. How To
1. Match the latch to light- and medium-duty doors
The compact direct drive is rated for light- to medium-duty door panels; on heavy industrial doors, step up to a 4003 or 4004 series lock instead.
2. Use the supplied mounting bracket as the reference plane
The latch ships with a mounting bracket that sets the body position relative to the panel; fix the bracket first, then seat the latch into it.
3. Fix with Ø4.5mm holes or M4×0.7 / 8-32 UNC threads
The three thread options cover metric and imperial fabrication; confirm which fastener standard the panel shop stocks before drilling.
4. Let the cushioning device do its job
The integrated cushioning device absorbs the closing impact for quiet, vibration-resistant latching; do not over-compress the gasket to the point where the door never reaches the damper.
5. Stay inside the 2,600 N ultimate load and 6.4 mm pin
Pin strike is limited to 6.4 mm and ultimate load to 2,600 N; check both against the striker hardware before release to production.
