Compression Latches

Compression latches pull the door panel tightly against the frame or gasket as they close, combining latching and sealing in a single action. SecuriLock compression latches (lever, lift & turn, and T-handle designs in zinc alloy, stainless steel, and marine-grade SUS316) resist vibration loosening, reduce panel noise, and maintain gasket compression on vehicle equipment doors, generator sets, air compressors, industrial enclosures, marine hatches, and RV compartments. Adjustable grip ranges and IP40–IP65 sealing options cover everything from light-duty panels to heavy-duty machinery doors.

A note on IP ratings for outdoor cabinets. Buyers often ask for an IP66 compression latch for outdoor cabinets. In IEC 60529 terms, IP66 adds resistance to powerful water jets on top of the dust-tight and low-pressure jet protection of IP65. Our sealed compression latch series, including the SL-A-2445 and SL-A-2446 families, is rated IP65, which covers rain, washdown and wind-driven dust on outdoor enclosures. If your specification formally requires IP66, send us the drawing and the test clause: our engineers will confirm whether a sealed model fits or propose an OEM sealing upgrade.
